"God's history is a story. His story encompasses the tale of who He is. Isaiah 55 tells us that God's ways are vastly immeasurable to our ways. But He knows that we will listen and can understand His truths on a fundamental level if they're told through story.
Leslie Hand's class is about liturgical worship - what it is, why we do it, and what it symbolizes. And she shows us through story.
But like a story itself, she steers us toward what we may think are stray paths. On some paths - or lessons - we will encounter a sketch of church history, a writer's model called The Hero's Journey, film clips, worship patterns in Biblical and modern times, seasons, sacred time and sacred places...then toward the end, Leslie weaves all the paths toward a straight road which will lead us into the presence of God.
What Leslie does, in a reverent way, is guide us to "Cross the Threshold" to meet Our Lord...to worship Him the way he teaches us and desires us to worship Him.
Leslie shared Christ in a way that took my breath away. After each lesson I was awed. I had so much to ponder, I was stunned for a day or so because of my new discoveries about the Lord. Then I would come back to my senses and my prayers became stronger and I was fully aware that Jesus shared my days with me. And the sweetest part of all is when I learned how I could truly worship Our Father in a profound way.
I encourage you to participate in this class so that you, too, will learn how to worship God on a deeper level."
